The arts curriculum provides students the opportunity to further explore vocal and instrumental music, visual art, dance, theater, creative writing, digital storytelling, and interdisciplinary arts. The experiences children develop at school will prepare them for more advanced level work at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School, which strives to prepare students for college and/or a professional career in the arts.

The Academy of the Arts Middle School is recognized as a model Professional Learning Community, one of only about 150 schools nationwide to hold this honor. PLCs are schools and districts in which educators recognize the key to improved learning for students is on-going, job-embedded learning for the adults who serve those students. We focus on learning, build a collaborative culture, create a results orientation.
