About Our School
Operating hours: 7:30 am until 5:30 pm
Regular school day: 8:30 am until 3:00 pm
Before care: 7:30 am to 8:30 am
After care: 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Young children at the Medical Professionals Teacher Preparation Pre K learn in a safe, positive, nurturing environment. A central part of their learning is their interaction with education students, who observe, plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities in classroom environments under the supervision of the academic coach and certified teachers.
Each classroom adapts to reflect the development and interests of the children and the teacher's style, while aligning with the State of Connecticut's Preschool Curriculum Framework. Students are part of a hands-on, diverse classroom environment that welcomes participation from parents and caregivers.

- Pathway preference in the lottery to a CREC Elementary School Low student-teacher ratios (1 adult for every 9 children)

- Nurturing staff
- Future's Teachers Club, (under the guidance of the supervising teacher) interacts with preschool children by creating reading and learning experiences biweekly.
Grades Served
We welcome young children 3 to 5 years old, their families, MPTP students and staff, as well as community visitors. The MPTP Lab Preschool offers full day programming, Monday through Friday, 5 days a week for a full school year. Before and after extended day programming is provided for families on a fee basis.
