CREC's Right Work

We believe that every student enrolled in a CREC Magnet School deserves a high-quality, empowering, and enriching education. To accomplish this, CREC educators engage in CREC’s Right Work. Adapted from From Tinkering to Transformation by Meredith Honig and Lydia Rainey, CREC’s Right Work consists of three elements: CREC’s Portrait of a Learner, our district definition of high quality instruction, and our identified strategies for centering learners.

The connection between these three elements is defined through our Right Work theory of action:

If CREC educators deliver high quality instruction and use strategies that center learners, then we will develop students who embody and demonstrate the competencies of CREC’s Portrait of a Learner.

We encourage you to explore each element of CREC’s Right Work to the right. You will find information regarding the competencies of our portrait as well as detailed information related to our definition of high quality instruction and our strategies for centering learners in our schools and classrooms.
