CREC Puerto Rico Recruitment Program

CREC seeks to hire qualified bilingual teachers as part of its Puerto Rico Recruitment Program to fill vacant positions for the 2023-24 school year with a focus on the following content areas:

  • Science
  • Special Education
  • Spanish
  • TESOL
  • Math

Application Procedure
Applicants must complete a CREC online application and upload all requested documents in order to be scheduled for an in-person interview.

These interviews are open to all current teachers and students who are graduating from Educator Preparation Programs.

Timeline: Candidate applications will be screened on a rolling basis. Candidates who advance through the initial screening will be invited to an in-person interview in Puerto Rico. The interviews will take place on Thursday, March 30 in Mayaguez and Saturday, April 1 in San Juan.

These sessions will provide candidates an opportunity to learn more about the recruitment effort, know the supports that will be provided to educators new to CREC, and participate in a question-and-answer session.

Education & Certification Requirements
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and be must be eligible for teacher certification in the state of Connecticut. CREC will work with the Connecticut State Department of Certification to review candidate materials to determine each candidate's pathway to certification.
